Painted during my residency at Bankside Hotel, this seascape explores the eternal dialogue between structure and movement through the meeting of sea and sky and the eternal cycle where ocean becomes cloud becomes rain in an infinite loop of transformation. The work captures the tension between the sculptural quality of towering cumulus clouds and the endless fluidity of rolling waters below, where nature’s own vocabulary expresses the monumentality of cloud formations rising like architecture against the horizontal expanse of the sea. The painting embodies the harmonious merging of contrasting elements that runs through my work, from the weight of clouds against their lightness to intimate wave details against vast horizons, the familiar made subtly surreal through shifts in atmosphere and perspective. Working within this seascape, I found myself exploring solitude and contemplation, creating a scene that invites the viewer into a visual meditation
